Request a hiring quote
Asks Silver.dev for a quote on hiring engineers, on behalf of a company. Send the requester's work email; the team replies to it with a quote, and the requester gets a receipt quoting the same
referenceId. Only send this when the person you are helping has asked for a quote. Rate limited per IP.JSON body:
email,companyLinkedinUrl,notes
Discovery
The API is public and needs no key. Every read allows any origin, so a browser app can call it directly.
The OpenAPI 3.1 description at silver.dev/openapi.json lists every operation with typed parameters and responses, and silver.dev/.well-known/api-catalog points to it. silver.dev/llms.txt describes Silver.dev for agents, and any page with a Markdown version serves it on Accept: text/markdown.
Errors
Errors are RFC 9457 problem details (application/problem+json) with a stable code and a resolution that says what to do next. An invalid quote request also lists each invalid field in errors.
Rate limits
Limits are per IP: 120 reads per 60 seconds, and 5 quote requests per 10 minutes. Every response states its limit in a RateLimit-Policy header, for example "reads";q=120;w=60. Over the limit the API answers 429 until the window ends.
Versioning and deprecation
The major version is part of the path: /api/v1. Fields and endpoints may be added within v1, so ignore fields you do not know. Anything that would break a client, such as removing or renaming a field, ships as /api/v2 instead.
Before a version is retired, its responses carry a Deprecation header and a Sunset header with the date it stops answering, at least six months ahead, and this page says what replaces it. Every response links here with Link: rel="deprecation". No version is deprecated today.
